The History of I Am Shag
I Am Shag in conjunction with Veteran Motivating Veterans an non-profit 501(c) organization. It is the sport apparel component that USA disabled veterans individually custom hand made (“No 2 the same“) sport novelty items for all the major sports teams. The primary purpose of this program is to provide supplemental income for Veterans who once served, but now needs your service.
501(c): Veteran motivating Veterans was conceived in 2019 in conjunction with I Am Shag as a resource network help center providing veterans with supplemental income and that hires only veterans. VMV also gives them a go to place to get VA affairs assistance.
Unlike other 501(c) organizations of it’s kind, VMV is dedicated to providing disabled veterans with job opportunities, compassion and understanding in their time of need. For instance, through it’s job training program, VMV provides disable veterans with new job skills already possessed, but have been dormant for many years. What’s more, VMV assist veterans in navigating through the mountains of paperwork to receive their well deserved benefits.
VMV draws it’s extensive expertise of motivating and inspiring veterans, in particular disabled veterans, “to be the best they can be” from the Founder Alfred M. Bolden three decades of successful business ventures.
Starting with the development of Shaggy Shag in 1990 an entertainment service. The founder Alfred M. Bolden at the time perform the most authentic and successful MC Hammer impersonation act in Hollywood. The act became so renowned that it was invited to be one of the main attraction at the 1992 MLK parade in Los Angeles, California.
Then in 1992 S.H.A.G. Wear (Stop Hanging Around Gangs) was created to instill fashion etiquette into the urban Hip Hop community, by developing a clothing manufacturing operations and store outlet in Palm Springs, California. The motto of the company is “to introduce you to fashion dressing and not just putting on clothes.”
Finally, in 1994 Shag House was created as a mentoring program for “at risk” urban kids to teach them leadership skills and community engagement. Through this program Shag House reached out to neighborhood youth who needed guidance and hope.
So with this kind of experience VMV is more than equip to motivate disabled veterans and others to achieve whatever they pursue in life through engagement and perseverance.
